Important infomation

Terms and Fees

I  work in a collaborative way and I hope we can work things out together.  Therapy works best if you can commit to weekly sessions and so it's important to try and attend your therapy sessions each week to ensure that you get the most out of our time together.

Fee per Session

  • Face to face: £80 per session
  • Skype session: £80 per session

Reduced rate for ongoing long-term therapy discussed at the initial consultation. I offer reduced rates £60.00 for student, low-income families and minority groups.

Each session is 50 minutes

Please note: Once session arranged they will not be used to see other clients. Sessions that are cancelled with less than 1 week notice are chargeable in full unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Psychotherapy might also involve more than one appointment a week, but this is optional and based on the specific needs of the individual.

Q and A

  1. What happens in the first session?

Our first session is a chance for us to get a feel of whether this is the right thing for you, and whether we could work together. You can bring any concerns or questions you have. There is no obligation to continue after the first session. A brief assessment also include in the first session so I can tailor therapy to your individual needs.

2. What happens after the assessment?

If you would like to work together, we would typically meet weekly at the same time. Based on your individual situation, we can work out an initial agreement on limited sessions or keep it open-ended.

3. Confidentiality

Everything you tell me is confidential… but there are exceptions. For example:  if you make it clear to me that you are actually planning to take your own life and you are taking action towards that end then if I can not persuade you not to do that, I will call your doctor.

If I do see you in the street or at social events, I will not say “hello” unless you do first and this is not because I am being rude, its simply to allow you confidentially.

4. What if there are problems?

If you feel that things are not working for you in therapy then its important that we can discuss and explore this in therapy. These difficult conversations are like the grit around which a pearl is created.  I work within the ethical guidelines of the BACP  and if you feel I may have breached any of those ethics then they will handle any complaint for you.
