If you plan to use private insurance for your therapy sessions, please obtain an authorisation number from your insurer before starting. Additionally, ensure you check your policy details, including whether psychological therapy is covered, if a referral from a GP or psychiatrist is required, and any specific conditions or limitations set by your insurer.
Clients are responsible for ensuring that therapy fees are paid in full. If your insurer does not cover the full amount, you will be liable for any outstanding balance.
Collaborative Approach
I believe that therapy is most effective when we work together collaboratively. To maximize the benefits of our sessions, I recommend committing to weekly appointments. Regular attendance is crucial for making consistent progress and achieving the best outcomes.
What to Expect in the First Session (Psychological Assessment)
In our initial session, we will conduct a psychological assessment to determine whether my therapeutic approach is a good match for your needs and if we can work effectively together. This meeting is a chance for you to voice any questions or concerns you might have, with no obligation to continue beyond this session. We will also develop an initial treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs, outlining a clear path forward and setting the stage for our work together.
What Happens After the Assessment
If you choose to proceed, we will typically arrange weekly sessions at a consistent time that suits your schedule. Based on your individual situation, we can either agree on a set number of sessions or keep the arrangement open-ended. My aim is to provide a flexible and supportive framework that adapts to your unique journey and helps you achieve your goals. For your convenience, you can also consider online therapy booking to manage your sessions easily. Regarding therapy fees, we can discuss this during our first meeting to ensure transparency and understanding.
I currently offer online therapy booking through Zoom and Microsoft Teams Meetings. I am fully trained and qualified to provide online therapy.
1. Before engaging in online therapy, please ensure that your internet connection is good enough and fast enough to sustain a Zoom meeting; otherwise, we can use a telephone call.
2. Once the session is arranged, that time will not be available to see other clients. Please note that therapy fees for sessions cancelled with less than one week's notice are chargeable in full unless there are extenuating circumstances.
3. Ensure you are in a quiet, confidential room where you can't be overheard.
4. The online therapy fee is payable by bank transfer 24 hours before the session to secure your booking.
Your confidentiality is paramount in our work together. Everything you share with me during our online therapy booking is kept strictly confidential, with a few important exceptions. For instance, if you express a clear intent to harm yourself and are taking steps towards that end, and if I am unable to dissuade you, I am obligated to contact your doctor to ensure your safety.
Should we encounter each other outside of our sessions, such as on the street or at social events, I will respect your privacy and refrain from initiating contact. This approach is intended to protect your confidentiality and is not a reflection of rudeness.
Addressing Concerns
If you feel that therapy is not meeting your needs, it is essential that we address these concerns openly. These discussions are a crucial part of the therapeutic process, much like the grit that forms a pearl. I adhere to the ethical guidelines set by the UKCP. If you believe that there has been an ethical breach, you have the right to file a complaint, which will be handled by the appropriate channels. Additionally, any psychological assessment we conduct will be approached with the utmost care and consideration for your privacy. If you have questions regarding therapy fees, please feel free to discuss them with me.
I adhere to the UKCP/BPS guidelines to assist clients in achieving their mental health and well-being goals through effective online therapy booking options. Additionally, I have updated the Professional indemnity insurance to ensure comprehensive coverage.
For Private Health Insurance Clients:
Please be aware that the insurer or invoicing system may collect sensitive client data, including diagnosis, personal information, age, gender, and address, which may be necessary for psychological assessment and to determine therapy fees.
