Counselling Psychologist & UKCP Psychotherapist | English & Mandarin | Central London & Online

Hello / 你好
I’m Dr Juan Du, an award-winning Chartered Counselling Psychologist and UKCP-accredited Psychotherapist, offering psychological therapy in English and Mandarin in Central London and online.
With over 10 years' clinical experience, I support adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, psychosis, cgrief, relationship difficulties, work-related stress and cultural or identity-related challenges.
My approach integrates evidence-based Western psychology and psychotherapy with Eastern philosophy and mindfulness. Having grown up in China and spent much of my adult life in the UK, I bring both professional expertise and cross-cultural understanding to my work.
I offer a compassionate, culturally sensitive space where we can understand not only your symptoms, but the wider experiences, relationships and cultural contexts that have shaped you.

My Philosophy
I believe in a personalised approach to therapy, recognising that there is no 'one size fits all' solution. As a Chinese-speaking psychologist in the UK, I adopt an integrative and culturally sensitive stance, drawing from a range of therapeutic approaches to address your unique challenges, develop a tailored plan to achieve your goals, and foster meaningful change in your life.
My approach incorporates:
By combining these diverse practices, I aim to provide a well-rounded and effective therapy experience. I look forward to working with you to create positive and lasting changes in your life.

I must note, however, that you won't find client testimonials on this site because I adhere to the ethical codes of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and consider using client testimonials to be unethical.

I've lived, studied, and worked across different countries, and that experience has shaped how I practise. Culture isn't a footnote to psychology for me — it's often at the heart of how people experience distress, and how they heal. I'm genuinely curious about the different ways people understand themselves, their families, and their emotional lives, and I bring that curiosity into every room I sit in.
Your therapeutic journey is deeply personal, shaped by where you've come from as much as where you're going, and I'm committed to tailoring my approach to meet you where you are — not fitting you into a single framework.
I offer sessions in both English and Mandarin, making my practice accessible to Chinese-speaking clients across the UK. For more information about sessions in Chinese, please visit the dedicated Chinese page.
Commitment to Learning
I believe we all have blind spots in our understanding, and I take that seriously. My therapeutic techniques are continually sharpened through regular supervision, ongoing professional development, and staying current with research — so my practice stays effective, relevant, and genuinely responsive to the people I work with, wherever they've come from.
